This is a great, all-in-one unit that’s very easy to install. Just drill a 3” hole, drop the plug unit in, and tighten the locking ring from underneath. It looks sleek on your desk and provides convenient access to both power outlets and USB charging ports right at your fingertips.

This outlet is a great and efficient way to provide power directly through the tabletop of a computer desk. Installation was easy provided you already have a 3 1/8 inch hole. In my case, the existing hole was only 2 1/2 inches, so I had to enlarge it using a hole saw. The unit fits securely in the hole and tightens from underneath with a screw lid. The power cord is long enough to easily reach my wall outlet.

I've had this pop-up outlet installed for about six months now, and it's held up really well very sturdy and durable. The only drawback I've noticed is that the outlets are quite tight, making it hard to plug and unplug devices. I’m guessing it’s a safety feature to keep cords from getting knocked loose, but it can be a bit of a hassle. I usually have to hold both the cord and the base of the unit when unplugging something, otherwise the whole outlet shifts slightly in place.

Because of that, I mostly use it to charge my phone via the USB ports and take advantage of the pop-up feature for easy access.

Installation was super simple. I picked up a 4.7-inch hole saw (not sure of the exact name, but I found it at the hardware store), drilled into my Malm desk, and used a bucket underneath to catch the particleboard dust. Once the hole was cut, I just dropped the unit in and that was it. Really straightforward setup.

Overall, it’s a great addition to my workspace. Functional, clean-looking, and aside from the tight outlets, it works exactly as expected.
